Ok, so, as you build more muscle you do NOT GET BULKY! Your body’s resting metabolism goes up the more muscle you build usually about 50 calories per pound of muscle. This means if you gain 5 lbs of muscle your body burns 250 more calories just sitting around doing nothing. I show my female clients this photo all the time to show them 1) the scale is not a good measure of progress once you get below 30% body fat. 2) muscle weighs more than fat and is how you get and look lean and 3) skinny fat is not only not a good look but it is unhealthy for you and if you do tons of cardio and do not eat enough you end up burning muscle and fat and then decrease the amount of calories you need in a day, therefore making it easier to gain fat if you have a less than perfect diet.
